Technology shaped your childhood. You have information and perspectives prior generations never dreamed about. Creative, sensitive, and environmentally concerned. If you want to establish a company, pay your employees well. Be a doctor in underprivileged areas. There are various ways to improve our country with your particular skills, interests, and voice.
Every generation improves. Cleaner air and water, programs that
lifted millions of elderly out of poverty, and marriage equality were not
achieved by chance. Marching youth altered attitudes. America has evolved
because youth believed democracy. Trusting ourselves and others, not a
charismatic leader.
Trust is not a lottery ticket; it is a weapon we might use in a crisis to break the glass, raise the alarm, and bravely dash toward it. Trust is trusting that hard effort, courage, and compassion can change problems. Our values give me hope for our country. We see ourselves in others regardless of language or narrative. I've said before that India-US relations may define this century.
We've overcome a lot, but this chapter brings new challenges.
Global economic prosperity requires a new cooperation age. Stop terrorism,
nuclear weapons, climate change, poverty, and disease. In a world when millions
are denied their basic human rights due to their identity, beliefs, or
government, we can best protect peace and dignity.
Finally, our national identities matter now. We've fought over our
diversity. Even if these negotiations are challenging, we believe that in a
world that will only become smaller and more connected, our two countries
illustrate that people can be united by their shared principles rather than
divided by their differences. Hearts change, hatreds fade. This esteemed
parliament accepts colonial children. A British army Kenyan chef's grandson may
become US president. Tea-sellers may be president.
Celebrate your development and shared experiences. Don't
disappoint. Do not fail your family, country, and most importantly, yourself.
Honor us. Many thanks. God bless.
